Remote control systems are divided into:

  • Remote control infrared system:
Device working within one room limits. Infrared is used in 98% of household audio video devices.
  • Remote control radio system:
Devices working within the building or other wide area limits.
  • Mixed systems:
These combine qualities of the two technologies (infrared and radio waves), providing with the possibility of controlling local devices and communication with other system elements placed in different rooms.

Infrared control

  • Advantages: low cost of control system. Typical range is no more than 15 m with direct visibility.
  • Disadvantages: necessity of direct visibility between remote control and controlled device, as infrared does not penetrate walls and obstacles.
  • Simple remote control used for one device.
  • Multipurpose remote control used for many devices.
  • Computer programmable remote control.

Radio control

  • Advantages: radio waves easily penetrate walls. Objects with the use of radio waves can be controlled by devices located in different rooms. There is no need to direct the remote at the controlled device. It is much more practical in case of big premises or conference rooms. The range and possibilities of radio control are much wider in comparison to infrared control system. Our arrangement solutions make it possible to acquire a range above 100 m in open space.
  • Disadvantages: higher cost in comparison to infrared control systems.
  • Radio remote control
